At Oshtemo Family Dentistry, we are a fee-for-service practice dedicated to providing exceptional dental care with transparent financial policies. We believe in helping our patients understand and maximize their dental benefits while ensuring that financial matters are handled with clarity and fairness.
Insurance & Payment Responsibility
While we are not contracted with any insurance companies, we can accept benefits from most commercial insurance policies. The terms of your insurance coverage, including reimbursement and payment policies, are determined by your insurance provider. We do not participate in HMO or Medicaid plans.
- If your insurance company submits payment directly to our office: You will be responsible for any co-payments, deductibles, or remaining balances at the time of service.
- If your insurance company requires payment to be sent directly to you: You will be responsible for the full cost of treatment at the time of service. You will then receive reimbursement from your insurance provider based on your policy's terms.
As a courtesy, we will file insurance claims on your behalf and act as advocates in the event of payment issues. We do, however, recommend taking time to understand your insurance coverage and benefits as HIPAA privacy laws do not allow us to access all information that is available to you by your insurance provider. It is important for you to track yearly insurance maximums and treatment costs you have incurred here or at other offices.
Payment Options
For your convenience, we accept the following forms of payment:
- Cash (please note that no change is kept on-site)
- Credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express)
- Personal checks (Returned checks will be subject to a fee)
- Money orders
- Third-party financing options through CareCredit and Cherry Financing
For more information on financing options, please visit: CareCredit | Cherry Financing
Estimates & Billing
Insurance companies provide us with estimates of coverage, and we can submit pre-authorizations for treatment at your request. However, final insurance payments may differ from these estimates. Any remaining balance after insurance payment is the patient’s responsibility.
- Remaining balances will be billed at 30, 60, and 90-day intervals.
- If unpaid at 90 days, the account will be sent to collections, and we will no longer be able to continue our relationship as your dental care provider.
Our Commitment
We understand that dental insurance can be confusing, and we are happy to help patients navigate their benefits. Our primary goal is to provide the best care for your dental and overall health, and we are here to work with you to ensure a smooth financial process.
